People use Medium in all sorts of ways:

The platform has changed a lot. Back in 2019 and 2020, a lot of people made a ton of money there. As will all platforms, the riches go to the early adopters.
Meaning, you probably cannot make five figures (or even four figures) writing on Medium alone, but still, it remains a platform where you can experiment with your ideas, style, voice, and share things that have no other place to go. And if you’re lucky, Medium may even pay you a little (or not so little) for your effort.
